Until now, natural mascaras have been the beauty bane of my existence—there wasn't a wallet-friendly option. Lavera, Dr. Hauschka and Tarte's mascaras are sublime, and if I had a full-time job now, I would buy them. But I can't afford to pay $19 for eye makeup that lasts only two months. So confession: I've been using Neutrogena Healthy Volume mascara. I guess we can't be green all the time...
...or can we? Physician's Formula has launched a 100% Natural Origin Mascara to accompany its popular Organic Wear® makeup line! It contains certified organic ingredients and gives nice, thick lashes with minimal clumping or flaking. And could the packaging be cuter?
Pretty factor: Rice protein, tapioca starch, and beeswax naturally adhere to and volumize lashes. Jojoba esters, olive leaf and soybean oil moisture them, while aloe and cucumber soothe and protect the delicate eye area. The lash-separating brush is similar to Cover Girl Lash Blast or Maybelline Define-A-Lash mascaras. It comes in 2 colors (Black and Ultra Black) and is opthamologist-tested.
Eco factor: 100% ECOCERT® ingredients with no parabens, petrochemicals, drying solvents, synthetic polymers, fragrance or dyes. It comes in biodegradable packaging and wasn't tested on animals.
To buy: $9.95 at drugstores nationwide

Super post
hmmmm. That is adorable packaging, and something about the new mascara brushes intrigues me.
I know Erth Minerals mineral makeup is coming out with a completely organic mascara also.
Thanks for the fyi on the Erth Minerals mascara, Anonymous.
Organic Wear is my FAVORITE mascara. I was using Tarte Lash Hugger. This is far superior. It is a fabulous little product and top notch in terms of quality!
I haven't been able to find this product in stores or on line anywhere. Can anyone tell me who carries it? Thanks.
Hi Tu
Hi turnerette. Sorry you're having trouble finding it. I've heard it's available at CVS (or some CVS's).
I haven't tried this one but you mentioned something about affordable natural mascara and there not being a lot of it. Well I've been using Origin's Full Story mascara and it's only $13. I thought I'd share a find. Origins has a lot of natural/organic stuff that isn't completely ridicilously priced.
I'm a fan of this mascara too! I wear it nearly ever day :) What a great price for a natural mascara and I found that I could get it for absolutely FREE with this rebate on their website:
