About the Writer: Lindsay Baron

Lindsay Baron, Editor + Writer
Chicago-based Lindsay is a freelance writer and the Midwest Account Executive for a top organic skincare company. Holding a B.A. in journalism from Indiana University, she has also worked as a web assistant and producer for several major magazines in Manhattan.

Battling acne through her teens and frustratingly trying a trillion products that did nada — or worse, left her skin ruddy and raw — Lindsay applied her love of learning, journalistic skills, and belief that "knowledge is power" to researching skincare products and ingredients in college. For three years after, she contributed write-ups to MakeupAlley.com, earning a Top Reviewer status.

After arriving in New York to pursue magazine editing, she parlayed her cosmetics knowledge into a position as a skincare consultant at Sephora to pay the bills until becoming an editorial assistant at Parents.com, where she started Eco*Pretty has a fun, non-mommy outlet. She has since worked as a web producer for Gourmet, Bon Appetit, Allure, and Self, is a contributing writer at an Indianapolis mag called SOUTH, and a member of the Organic Consumers' Association.


Jen Tanner, Contributing Writer
Jen Tanner is a licensed holistic esthetician and makeup artist with 12 years of experience in the beauty industry. She has worked as an educator, sales rep and product demonstrator for several high-end natural skincare companies, including Dr. Hauschka, Jurlique, Juice Beauty, and Aveda.

She and Lindsay quickly became blogs buddies (Jen writes an informative skincare site called Skin Rhythm) and Lindsay asked her to lend her savvy to Eco*Pretty in January 2009. Jen lives in Austin, Texas with her young twin boys.
