Physicians Formula Organic Wear® Tinted Moisturizer and Under-Eye Concealer Review

Thousands of Eco*Pretty readers come to the site via a Google search for Physicians Formula Organic Wear®, which I reviewed here two months ago. Given this, I wanted to devote a little more time to the line. My two picks are the tinted moisturizer (for oily skin) and the concealer in soft yellow.

The tinted moisturizer with SPF 15 comes in 4 shades, from very light to medium-dark. It contains several non-comedogenic, hydrating oils—jojoba, olive and safflower—that give a creamy look without clogging pores. However, perhaps to balance the oils and provide antibacterial action, it also contains a heavy amount lavender alcohol. And, as many customers have found, the alcohol makes the product too drying for normal and dry skin types. However, it's a stellar product for oily and exceptionally oil skin and for normal skin during the summer.

I love the concealer in soft yellow. You can almost use it as an eye cream thanks to moisturizing and fatty-acid-packed olive, soybean, avocado, sunflower and safflower seed oils plus shea butter and aloe! It completely camouflages and illuminates under-eye circles. I wish it had a hygienic click-pen applicator like Jane Iredale's Active Light concealer. But for $6.95, I won't complain.

Eco factor: The Organic Wear® line contains 100% ECOCERT® ingredients with no parabens, harsh chemicals or synthetic fragrance and dyes. They come in biodegradable packaging and weren't tested on animals. Its Web site features a Green Tip of the Week.

To buy: $8.95 at drugstores nationwide

I wish the OrganicWear TM didn't contain talc. Sigh.

I saw this a Target a couple weeks ago and wondered about it. So I signed on here to see if you've reviewed it. I will pick some up today and let you know how it goes for me.

Hey everyone,

Another great ORGANIC skin care line that is certified is MADE FROM EARTH. I have been using their products for the last 6 months - and now stopped. . . Because my skin has naturally improved itself using its organic ingredients.

I have seen a real decline in the amount of wrinkles on the side of my eyes. I would recommend the "VITAMIN ENHANCED FACE FIRMING SERUM". This is the anti wrinkle serum I only used for 6 months and now stopped because it naturally has improved my owns skins ability to heal itsefl and become much firmer. This is because it uses the organic compound DMAE and is infused with REAL vitamins….not synthetic vitamins…

As a body lotion, I use the HONEY HONEY lotion. It smells like honey and my husband likes it. I recommend you buy from their website….because at Whole Foods they are usually sold at full price….but the website now has a sale going on… www.madefromearth.com

I just started using the OrganicWear foundation and pressed powder this week. I do not like how the pressed powder sits on my skin and I find the brush that comes with it to be to harsh. However, I was starting to like the foundation till the other night I started breaking out in hives. I'm not sure if it's the foundation or something else 'cuse the itching occurs after I wash my face. But other than the foundation I haven't changed my daily routine. For now I guess I need to stop with the foundation.
